A new obsession...

To many, abstract film is simply dumb.  But I love it.

Created by Frank Mouris, this animated short features two soundtracks; one is a narrative autobiography, and the other is a list of words beginning with the letter "f".  The visual aspect of the film is a collection of over 11,000 images cut from magazines over many years.  The film was made by hand, and won an Academy Award in 1974.

I love how the eye has something new to look at each second, and your ears have something new to hear.  While it seem chaotic, it's completely cohesive - the soundtracks are commenting on the images, and the images follow the narrative.
