Today in Raleigh, lawmakers, religious leaders, and equal rights activists met to discuss an amendment to ban same-sex marriage in North Carolina. Many people believe the amendment should be put up to a populous vote. How do you say... HELL NO!
Wasn't this made abundantly clear in California in November? If you put a decision affecting minorities up to a majority vote, it outcome will not be in favor of the minorities.
North Carolina is one of the most progressive southern states, and putting this up to a populous vote will only set us back.
