Today conservatives flooded into Washington for CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) 2009. This is (basically) a big conservative circus where the republican party sniffs out favorites for the year. CPAC is where Anne Coulter in 2007 said "I was going to talk about the other Democratic candidate John Edwards, but it turns out that you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'Faggot'." Yep. Sure did.
This year wasn't much different. Cliff Kincaid from the conservative group Accuracy in Media accused Obama of being a communist and of not being born in the United States.
Last year Bush and McCain were the hot shots at the event, and this year they weren't event on the agenda. In fact, McCain wasn't even there. Instead, they had Joe the Plumber on the panel. Yes, that guy, who apparently is preferred over the presidential candidate who's campaign made him famous.
But the best part was when John Bolton, Bush's former ambassador to the UN, said he was optimistic about the future partly because "we don't have to defend the Bush administration anymore." AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
